Les Trois Mois

The global Covid-19 pandemic has abruptly changed the world, fundamentally revealing structural inequalities and systemic dependencies. Also here in Berlin almost nothing is the same as before the lockdown—clubs, bars, galleries closed or struggling, almost no tourists in town. For some of us this decelerated, outwardly limiting period released creative forces – or at least an urge to clean up: wardrobes, basements, book shelves, harddrives… Michel Würthle, artist and gastronomer, appropriated the daily menus of the Paris Bar in the West of Berlin as a means to artistically grapple with the surreal experience of a quarter year with almost no guests. The leporello edition Les Trois Mois – 8 Harte Eier (Speisekarten in Krisenzeiten) contains reproductions of these daily exercises from an extraordinary period.
